  6. T-FIG is an interactive tutorial intended for use with the Telix comm
  7. program.  It runs just like a script from within Telix.  T-FIG reads
  8. the present configuration of TELIX and displays it in a textual
  9. format.  You can make a dynamic configuration change and T-FIG will
  10. pick it up and display the new configuration.

  12. T-FIG is designed with the beginner in mind.  It allows the new
  13. TELIX user to have easy access to the configuration information
  14. needed to make TELIX more easily used.  It's not necessary to
  15. remember any commands to use T-FIG ... it's completely automatic.

  17. In many cases the information you need for the most widely used
  18. applications are explained in T-FIG.  Section 5: TIPS and HINTS
  19. contains stuff that causes most new users problems.  If you have a
  20. particular problem, it's most likely here.  If not, use the new
  21. on-line documentation.

  24. T-FIG ADVANCED v4.00, now with ON-LINE DOCUMENTATION and SHELL:

  26. I can't even begin to count the times that I needed a tidbit of
  27. information from the manual, exited TELIX, loaded TELIX.DOC into an
  28. editor, List, Browse, etc., found what I needed, changed back to the
  29. TELIX directory, and finally, reran TELIX.  Now, for those with lots
  30. of memory, problems don't exist...but, they did for me...regardless of
  31. the frustration!  T-FIG gets around that by providing TELIX quick
  32. reference with ON-LINE DOCUMENTATION.

  34. The on-line documentation that comes with T-FIG is extensive, inluding:

  36. 1.  A Telix User's Manual
  37. 2.  A SALT Progrmming Guide
  38. 3.  A Telecommunications Primer
  39. 4.  The T-FIG User Manual
  40.  
  41. In addition, registered users will received a Comprehensive Cyclopedic
  42. HyperJump Index.  This index catalogs virtually every significant word,
  43. concept, and idea in all the on-line documentation alphabetically.  It has
  44. over 1,500 entries!     When a user finds what they're looking for, they
  45. can make a HyperJump directly to the spot in the file where the information
  46. is located!

  48. Also, two new and useful features of T-FIG are SHELL and LOG.
  49.  
  50. 1.  Users can now shell to DOS while T-FIG is running.
  51. 2.  Users can command T-FIG to write a log of Telix configuration to a
  52.      floppy disk in drive A.
